CONFESSIONS OF A SHOPAHOLIC

When this film was out I was so excited that I went online and got the eBook, the audio book and the film. My enthusiasm was intensified by finding more stuff in a magazine about Sophie Kinsella.

Once I got them I just couldn’t find the time to see the film and read the book. But today has came. A grey, windy, wet day when I just felt like doing nothing. So I put the eBook on the E-reader and the film on. Of course I couldn’t afford the DVD and beside I don’t think it’s out on DVD yet so I watched a camcorder Russian version.

What is it about? For short Rebecca Bloomwood. is a journalist. She spends her working life telling others how to manage their money. She spends her leisure time shopping. She knows she should stop, but she can't. She tries Cutting Back, she tries Making More Money. But neither seems to work. I think Isla Fisher in the leading role was an excellent choice but I don’t know about the guy even thou he was kind of cute.

A good light comedy with light actors, I can’t wait to read the book. If you live in UK you can buy it either from WHSmith or Waterstones. Right now it’s on offer at www.waterstones.com for £4.79. Read all about his bend and take a peak at what sort of  underwear he’s wearing on Socialite Life which I freshly discovered and which I love already. Much better than Perez Hilton who lately became such a greedy fame whore with all the T’s that he’s selling and shows and all that shit. What a shame, he was really funny at one point.

SAVE ME

The “Save Me” indie film stars Chad Allen as a gay ex junkie sent to an ex gay Christian ministry as a last resort. There’s also a handsome aspiring ex-gay played by Robert Gant. Romance ensues much to the absolute horror of the woman who runs the place who is brilliantly portrayed by Judith Light. The three main actors also produced the film!

It is so well-done and thought-provoking and so great to have out actors Allen and Gant in gay roles. What stood out for me the most was the journey that Allen's character takes and how he really seems to find himself after being so lost and how, in the end, he makes his own choices and doesn't feel bad about himself. But he had to get there and Allen makes his journey believable and touching. (excerpt from Out in Hollywood by freshly deposed Greg Hernandez)
